Ironing Indeed!

A friend of mine, ironed his T-shirt while wearing it!!!!

Only a person who has done that can enlighten us on the temperature profile at different spots on the Iron surface.

He says " The middle part of the iron was not hot, only the edges were. "

He burnt himself at his neck, and says, " This is the closest you get to cutting edge research."

What can I say to that except, "Lage Raho!!"

hmm .. wonder y ppl blow up issues.. now let me explain wat really happened ..
I had set up alarm and 5 reminders from 6:45 AM to 7:30 AM so that I can be on time for my TA class which starts at 8 AM. Since I have grown resistant to the waking up intensity of my alarm, I didnt getup until the last whistle blew . It was almost 7:40 and i was still on bed . I decided to jus brush n start for the day . It was while i was brushing tat i realised tat my t shrt was kindof soiled . Since my TA class has lots of american gurls , I thought i really need to press my tshrt. If u r curious frm where did the crumpled tshrt come from , ya i wore it the previous night so tat i can save sm time in the morning to dressup for the class..
Now getting back, the time was 7:45 and i just placed some oats in the microwave . I know that wud take 3 mins and i suddenly thought y not optimally use the time to press my tshrt. I immediately plugged the iron to the power socket . Since it was a brand new one got 6 mnths back but hardly used it got hot immediately . So i removed my tshrt n gave a 30 sec super fast press. I unplugged it n wore my tshrt n went infrnt of the mirror to do a self validation of whether any american babe wud luk at me . I noticed my right collar was still slightly crumpled. It was 7:50 already n i rushed back to the iron. I touched its base n found tat it was warm (not at all hot ).For someone who sleeps with the next day clothes on, ironing the tshrt tat i was wearing didnt sound weird. I felt so proud of my strength, ofcourse my lazyness. Ya , then i did press myself with tat not hot , slightly warm iron. Suddenly i felt a pricking pain near my neck. It was then i noticed tat the edges were still hot . It tuk 1 min for my skin to realise the cut.I suddenly felt it was the closest i had ever been to cutting edge technology. It was a small cut on my neck. I applied sm cold water on it, drank my highly diluted oats in few secs , wore a sweatshrt over my pressed tshrt, n then my winter jacket n started for my class. Again, i was 5 mins late to the class n my prof was walking thru thr 3rd slide of his presentation.
- n ppl, pls do not blow up this incident n make me feel complacent abt my achievement. And here goes my first blog in life ......... i am typing this while a humble kungfu prof isteaching database in front of me, n posting it without any review as the class is getting over now ..

These things are of no surprise to having been a roomie with him for many years in the past.... And I would say the best(worst) is yet to come..... His Un-used bath soap, military trousers... Air-india Travel bag.... smiling shamelessly after creating the biggest trouble for someone in life..and then giving his out-of-block explanations (like cutting edge technology). He continues to rock in his own ways :)

i used to play with iron boxes when i was a kid. i used to move my fingers swiftly across it. i realized that even if the same time, my fingers dont burn if they are in motion while in contact.

this made me wonder as a 7th grader, that heat should not only be time dependent but had something to do with the flow and points of contact. this made me believe in the medieval opinion that heat is a fluid. but later on, i learnt my theory was wrong.

Hehe.. nice post.
@Vatsa, nice explanation. But the super long explanation stories still do not change the fact that it was dumb thing.
